Located on Wulugul Walk in The Streets of Barangaroo, Phomo offers exciting Vietnamese dishes with a modern twist.
Enjoying the dishes with a beautiful waterfront view, is definitely a nice bonus.
This venue has a spacious dining area with a few seatings looking over the beautiful harbour.
Their simple yet modern decor definitely showcases the Vietnamese culture through their wooden furnitures and colourful umbrellas on their shopfront.
It was quite a cold day when we visited but it didn’t stop me from trying their Vietnamese iced coffee.
Strong, aromatic with the perfect sweetness for me, the coffee was awesome!
As for the dishes, we started with the Rare Wagyu Beef Pho. A must have dish if you go to a Vietnamese Restaurant, Phomo definitely delivered!
Perfectly cooked noodles with tender beef and delicious broth, it was such a perfect dish to enjoy in this wintery weather. Pho-nomenal 🙂
Next was the Crispy Skin Chicken with Tomato Rice. Yum is the word!
The skin was indeed crispy (thanks for that!) and the meat was succulent. We had it with fragrant tomato rice, and the dish brought big smiles to our faces.
I’ve never tried a poke bowl before so this next dish was definitely memorable for me.
Their Beef Tataki Poke Bowl was delicious to say the least. A generous amount of beef was given and I loved the different flavours that the dish brought, thanks to the Vietnamese dressing and different types of pickled vegetables. It’s worth mentioning that this dish really looked beautiful on the plate. Talk about awesome plating!
And those crackers.. added a nice crunch indeed!
With all this deliciousness, I almost forgot that it was a healthy and nutritious dish! Great source of protein and healthy carbs as well.
The next dish was another dish that I always order when visiting a Vietnamese Restaurant: Vermicelli Salad.
This time it was Phomo’s Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls Vermicelli Salad. It was a beautiful dish inside and out. I love how the spring rolls’ skin was unlike the ordinary spring rolls. It was way better!
The grilled pork was tender, full of flavour and I loved all the fresh herbs in the bowl. Even though the noodles were cooked simply, you will get the wonderful flavours when you pour that Vietnamese dressing on top. Such a fun dish to have!
Last but not least was the Shaking Beef Stir Fry.
Served with a sunny side egg as well, it’s another dish that was packed with flavours. The beef cubes were tender with some spiciness from the black pepper.
Loved it. Such a tasty and comforting meal!
Overall, we had an awesome dining experience and might be back for dinner. Yes, Phomo Barangaroo opens for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
