Located on level 3 within MYER Sydney City store, Vic on George definitely gives a nice touch that is different than the other Cafes we normally see on the streets of the City area.
Away from the hustle and bustle in the City, here you can just sit back, relax and enjoy the quiet time and pleasant dining experience.
You will forget for a moment that you are in the middle of the busy city of Sydney.
The venue is spacious and it has a modern and posh vibe throughout. Lovely!
While waiting for the dishes to come out, I happily sipped on my coffee. It was awesome (Vic on George has their own coffee brand).
Their Iced Coffee is delicious. I can taste the strong coffee and I love that it’s not overly sweet.
We were also very fortunate to be able to have a long chat with Jimena Cecilia, the owner of Vic on George and also the Chef, Juan Javier.
I decided to order one dish from their Breakfast, Lunch and Specials menu. Every single dish that we had gives a ‘wow’ factor when it arrived on the table. Presentation and the plating were beautiful!
The first dish we had was the Crispy French Toast, from their breakfast menu. I added bacon, just because.. 🙂
Wow is exactly the word for this dish!
The combination of textures and flavours is like a delightful party in my mouth! The brioche is crispy, the charred banana is sweet & caramelised perfectly and the fruit gives a nice freshness. Then you get the crunchiness from the nuts and the bacon.. adds a nice saltiness to the dish.
We then continued with a dish chosen from their current Specials: Fried Chicken Basket.
It was amazing!
With a crispy outer coating, succulent meat inside and tasty sauce, it’s the dish you gotta try!
Next was Mushrooms Risotto with Chicken. Perfection on the plate.
The Kale on top was something I picked up first from this dish. Love the crunch! The risotto was cooked perfectly, mushrooms were awesome and the chicken was succulent.
Definitely one of the best Risotto I’ve ever tasted!
Now, let’s end the meal with a sweet note. Their array of cakes look amazing so it’s hard to say no to the dessert.
We had three types of cakes and all were delightful and looked so beautiful!
They were: Hazelnut, Chocolate & Truffle Cake, Raspberry Cheesecake and Strawberry & Pistachio Tea Cake.
All were mouth-wateringly delicious and beautiful to look at.
My favourite has to be the Hazelnut, Chocolate and Truffle Cake. I really enjoyed those three different layers with three different textures. They were creamy, crunchy and spongy.
All in all, we had an awesome dining experience at Vic on George.
